TUI NA MASSAGE IN STOCKHOLM, SWEDEN

Just got back from a trip that started in Sicily with a stop in Menorca, Spain and ended in an overnight in Stockholm, Sweden for me.  When we got to Stockholm, a massage sounded great after a busy work trip with lack of sleep and sore muscles.  After asking the concierge at the Courtyard Marriott for a recommendation on where to go, I was off to Cutie Nails, which was right behind the hotel.  Nice and convenient.  When I walked into my room, there was a silky pair of silver pants with a matching long arm sleeved shirt on the bed.  I thought to myself, this is different…  Changed into my new-found massage wear and was ready for my massage.  My Chinese massage therapist didn’t use any oil, which I actually like, it feels better to me that way.  He used his hands pressing down on all my pressure points over the silver silky suit.  It felt very therapeutic.  The tingling sensation felt amazing to me.  He included acupressure and stretching as well.  The massage name listed on their brochure is called Kineisisk Tui Na kroppsmassage.  According to Wikipedia, Tui Na is a form of Chinese Manipulative therapy. Tui na is a hands-on body treatment that uses Chinese taoist and martial arts principles in an effort to bring the eight principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) into balance. The practitioner may brush, knead, roll/press, and rub the areas between each of the joints, known as the eight gates, to attempt to open the body’s defensive (wei) chi and get the energy moving in the meridians and the muscles.  After the massage, I felt relaxed and refreshed.

Over the years, I’ve had many massages in many different places and I only have remembered 3 that I really liked.  This is one of them!  One thing I love about this business is that I am constantly being exposed to and learning new things!  Thought I would share this for all the massage lovers out there.  If you ever find yourself in Stockholm and feel like a massage, I recommend getting yourself a therapeutic massage at Cutie Nails, it is a piece of Chinese heaven in Sweden!
