San Gimignano: The Medieval Manhattan

Do you like charming towns? Do you like wine tasting? If so, San Gimignano is a great place to visit.

We stayed in the town of San Gimignano while in Tuscany on our group trip and did day trips to see other cities and wineries from there to avoid constant packing and unpacking. We loved the spectacular views from Villa San Paolo! On our day of leisure, we explored San Gimignano, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, which is known as the “Medieval Manhattan” with the towers that make up its skyline. We tasted Vernaccia wine at La Rocca overlooking a beautiful vista of green rolling hills after doing some shopping in the town. Tenuta Torciano winery where we had wine tasting and dinner one evening was a hit as was having our own party fun at our hotel.

One of the most memorable events was the party we decided last minute to have ourselves outside in the patio area of Villa San Paolo. One of the couples who was on the trip with us surprised us all with a nice charcuterie spread they put together and we all brought wine to enjoy. We presented my mom with an apron that read Carmolive (which was a nickname she got on this trip showing her love of olives) which brought her a chuckle. We had many laughs! Sometimes the spontaneous events are the best. Thank you to Villa San Paolo who accommodated us with our gathering.

If Italy is on your dream list, I would be delighted to plan your trip. You can contact me at: info@dmctraveltailor.com and or stefany@largaytravel.com to start the process.

With passion and adventure,

Stefany
