I spent Christmas 2020 in India. The staff at the JW Marriott Bangalore, where I stayed gave amazing service and continually spoiled me with treats! On Christmas Day, we went to the opulent Rambagh Palace in Jaipur for brunch. There was a band playing Christmas carols in a beautiful setting outside on a sunny day! Mumbai was a day trip where I quickly learned there is a lot of traffic there. I experienced Hindu spirituality in the Shiva Temple in Bangalore and visited the Bangalore Palace. I learned how to use a meditation bowl in New Kaveri Collection boutique and how to dress up in a Sari. Seeing the jade elephant at the Ritz Carlton was a highlight as well as the decadent food display for lunch at Leela Palace.
All of the bright colors of the temples caught my eye and the graciousness of every Indian person that I met put a smile to my face. Even observing many different faces of India, it was obvious to me that the Indian culture is very similar to the Italian culture; people are filled with warmth, humility and a genuine heart. What’s not to love about that?
